In recent years, Marvel villains are getting more appreciated than superheroes. Following the appearance of Kang the Conqueror and Doctor Doom on the big screen, fans have started getting more inclined towards the baddies than the once indomitable heroes. However, with the rise in popularity of villains, there’s one Marvel villain who got the most support from fans.
In a world where Kang the Conqueror and Doctor Doom, created a reputation for being Marvel baddies, Vincent D’Onofrio got the most appreciation from fans for his role as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. Even the actor has been willing to play Kingpin until the end of time, since his debut as the comic book character in Daredevil (2015) TV series.
Vincent D’Onofrio Wants to Play Kingpin Until End of Time
Fans have witnessed several invincible villains like Kang the Conqueror and Doctor Doom, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But none of them stood out as Vincent D’Onofrio’s wretched character, Kingpin. Initially taking on the role of the despicable comic book character in the 2015 television series Daredevil featuring Charlie Cox, D’Onofrio went on to reprise his role further.
Following the highly appreciated Daredevil series, Vincent D’Onofrio reappeared in the Marvel TV series Hawkeye in 2021. Playing the villainous role of Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, the actor stole the show as he appeared as Maya Lopez’s mentor who killed her father. Following that very storyline, the actor went on to appear in Alaqua Cox‘s standalone series Echo in 2024. And now D’Onofrio told ComicBook that he wishes to play Kingpin until the end of time.
“The only thing that could have held me back would be if I just had to keep on putting on all that weight and keep it on. And so I don’t have to do that anymore, so I’m in the best shape I’ve been in a long time. I love these new kinds of ways that they actually construct the muscle fat suits that I have to wear. I think they finally work and feel right and look good.”
“That helps a lot because it’s not the healthiest thing in the world to keep putting weight on and taking it off again. So yeah, I mean, as long as the powers that be will have me, I can’t see not playing this part, it’s so much fun.”
Crediting the use of a fat suit that helps him look more like his vile character, Vincent D’Onofrio claimed that he’s willing to appear as Kingpin for as long as Marvel wants him. Thus, the actor is now preparing to appear in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again.
Kingpin Became the Most Appropriate Marvel Villain
Following Vincent D’Onofrio’s interview with ComicBook where he informed about his desire to reprise his role as Kingpin for as long as Marvel wants, fans showered the actor with praises and appreciation. As Discussing Film shared the article on X, fans began hailing D’Onofrio for his role as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. Among all the Marvel baddies, D’Onofrio’s character was appreciated the most.

Meanwhile, fans are waiting for Marvel Studios to officially announce their Phase Six villain. Following Galactus and the Heralds of Galactus’ rumored appearance in Pedro Pascal’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, speculations suggest that the ignoble character could be the MCU’s Phase 6 villain. Other rumors also suggest Jonathan Majors‘ Kang the Conqueror as the next Thanos-level threat. But nothing has been confirmed by the Studios itself.
