MATHEWS, La. (WVUE) – An 18-year-old Lockport man is behind bars after deputies say he stabbed someone to death in Mathews.
According to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre, Tre’ Booty, 18, of Lockport, was booked on one count of second-degree murder after 20-year-old Hunter Parks, of Larose, was found with “several stab wounds to his body, primarily in the torso.”
Deputies who found Parks reportedly attempted lifesaving measures until EMTs arrived. Parks was later pronounced dead.
Sheriff Webre says the stabbing stemmed from an altercation Sunday (Feb. 18) at Parks’ mother’s house on Adams Street, off of Hwy. 1 between Raceland and Lockport. When Booty arrived at the house, Webre says an argument ensued and he allegedly stabbed Parks multiple times.
Deputies arrived to find Booty in a nearby vehicle with suspected blood on his clothing. He was immediately taken into custody.
His bond was set at $500,000.
