This season, we’re taking a leaf from the books of nail art trend-setters like Sofia Richie, Cardi B and Hailey Bieber. Autumn’s most on-trend nails are still classic, but in warmer shades, with a dash of experimentation. Expect to see classic pinks and deeper autumnal colours being used for everything from a contemporary take on the French tip to playful nail art.
For expert insight into the shades of the season, we enlisted the help of beauty pioneer Sherrille Riley, the founder of newly-opened concept store Beauty Edit Mayfair, as well as popular salon Nails & Brows Mayfair. Below, she shares five manicure shades that are trending in London right now.
A green for everyone
A universal green that somehow suits pretty much everyone who applies it. “Our clients love this earthy green colour, a colour found in nature which suits every skin tone,” says Riley. “It serves as a fashion statement, oozing edginess.”
The neutral alternative
An ideal green for pastel lovers, this understated hue is a winner. Riley calls it a “great colour contrast for this season’s autumnal creams, camels, and neutral hues. An understated chic colour which is a highly requested at our boutique.”
Autumnal cherry
Deep and rich, black cherry is the go-to shade of red this season. “A true autumnal colour for every outfit. This colour is the colour of choice on Fridays, when clients are readying for the weekend,” shares Riley.
The signature red
Instantly semaphoring confidence and authority, red is not just a colour, it’s a statement. “Stiletto is a beautiful signature red,” Riley says, adding that it’s among the most highly requested shades in her boutique. “Clients have told us that this colour make them feel beautiful, sexy and feminine.”
The glazed finish
A minimalist manicure will always be in style, no matter the season. If you prefer to keep nails simple, try this powdered take on the classic pink. “It gives the perfect glow to healthy nails – and works to show off fabulous rings,” says Riley. Choose this if you want to enhance your natural nails.
