A good manicure can be spotted from a mile away. Doesn’t matter whether you’re dressed to impress or to just get through the day, when you walk into a room, your toes are the first to step in. So, why ignore them? In an attempt to have you sorted from head-to-toe, literally, here are some toenail art designs to get you started.
The Classic French
The one nail design that has stood the test of time is the French tip. A clean, natural base with tips painted in crisp white, this design exudes elegance. So, why should we gate-keep the French tip from our feet?
This striking yet subtle design is suitable for any occasion. And if, like me, you’re not a fan of longer toenails, this is suited for any nail length and shape and gives toes an elongated appearance. Moreover, it makes them look well-groomed and cared for.
If you feel adventurous, you can experiment with different colours for the tip, such as pastels, neons, metallics or even a bold black!
I See Red
The colour red is associated with sensuality and timeless beauty. While some might shy away from it, there has never been a shade as iconic and versatile as this one. From a cheerful crimson to a bold burgundy, a radiant ruby to a winsome wine, each hue of red holds a unique personality. You just have to find the right red for you.
They also say red nail polish can help one feel confident and boost self-esteem. So, with a red lip, red manicure and pedicure, you’re sorted.
Glazed Donut (Toe) Nails
The delicious nail trend that took the beauty world by storm, glazed donut nails came into being after Hailey Bieber. This design begins with a soft-toned base coat, usually along the lines of pale pinks or creamy whites, which is then topped off with a similar-toned chrome powder.
After the glazed donut nail trend gained popularity, many adapted it in their own unique ways. Some have played around with iridescent chrome powders, while some have incorporated it atop the classic French tip. After all, who wouldn’t want this high-gloss nail art on every nail they have?
Barbie Party
Are you ready to ‘feel the glamour in pink’, now that the Barbie fever is upon us? Barbie’s style is synonymous with femininity and fun. So be it with your clothes, hair accessories, makeup or your mani-pedis, get creative with everything pink and shimmery. After all, ‘Imagination, life is your creation!’
Happy Yellows
If you’re looking for a splash of sunshine in these gloomy monsoons, think yellow. This cheerful colour is soft yet playful. It radiates positivity and is sure to draw attention. There’s one for every mood–a romantic pastel yellow, a warm sunflower yellow, a zesty lemon yellow or a bold neon yellow.
My personal favourite way to incorporate yellow in my nail art designs is by adding some flowers to the mix. Think of it as a Y2k trend but modern.
Can’t Go Wrong With White
Of all the shades in the world, there’s only one with a quiet sophistication to it and that’s white. White nails have a pristine charm about them; they never look outdated and are never underdone. For lovers of the minimalistic and old-money aesthetic, white nails are the way to go. They effortlessly complement any outfit and instantly make you look put together.
As for white on the toes, it’s my favourite trick to give the illusion of a fresh pedicure.
Feet In The Clouds
Painting clouds on the nails is not exactly new. But thanks to social media, this nail art design has picked up again. The dreamy details of embellished sparkles and sprinkled dots is what gives the cloud nails its playful charm. It’s definitely a much more intricate design than the ones mentioned before.
There are multiple ways to go about this trend. You could stick to the classic blue sky with white clouds, or play around with diffused clouds on a pink background. You could also incorporate metallic shades or an ombre to customise your sky. Some renditions have also seen the use of star stickers and gold paint, so don’t be scared, let your creative juices flow!
