CHARLOTTE – 24 Hours of Booty attracted 100 teams and 900 registered participants from 23 states and three countries to Charlotte’s Myers Park neighborhood, raising $1.5 million to help support cancer survivorship and patient navigation programs.
“What a phenomenal 23rd year of 24 Hours of Booty. We extend our deepest thanks to our participants, cancer survivors, volunteers, sponsors and partners for joining us for our celebration of hope, healing and connecting to change the course of cancer,” said Katherine Murphy, executive director of 24 Foundation. “Kudos to our 24 Hours of Booty champions who went above and beyond to impact our cancer community.”
When not on the course July 26 and 27, participants hung out at the Queens University of Charlotte soccer field, also known as “Bootyville,” for camping, food and fun.
An ‘UnLooped” version of the event allowed participants to create a virtual 24 Hours of Booty experience.
Hundreds of volunteers supported 24 Hours of Booty. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was stationed along the course at all times.
Funds raised support local cancer beneficiaries including Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital. Donations are still being accepted for 2024 and can be made online at 24foundation.org.
