Blake Lively’s “Micro-Floral Garden Party” Nails Have a Secret Message

Blake Lively is a bonafide beauty queen. Having just announced the launch of her new two-part haircare line, Blake Brown, to help the rest of us achieve lustrous locks like hers, she also showed off some stellar new nail art: dubbed the “micro-floral garden party” manicure by celebrity nail artist, Elle Gerstein.

Paying homage to Lily Bloom, the florist she plays in the forthcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us, Lively’s new manicure featured tiny floral detailing—like hand-painted pressed flowers—around the edges of each nail.

“The micro-floral design isn’t just inspired by her character’s career as a florist, but also the themes of growth and resilience, and the beauty that can emerge from life’s challenges,” says Gerstein of the look. “We had an amazing time mixing shades of nail polish to add depth and detail to the overall design.” Utilizing Essie nail products, Gerstein name-checks the brand’s Chiffon The Move as the perfect gel base for “creating a striking contrast with the nail art”.

It seems Lively has a penchant for time-worn detailing on her nails. Remember her “antique grandma” nails from a couple of years ago? Taking her cues from some retro-looking House of Hackney wallpaper, Lively sported florals in shades of mustard, maroon, pink and green. Talk about granny chic.
