This Jennifer Lopez-Approved Nail Trend Is the Perfect Transition Manicure for Fall

Jennifer Lopez is in her very demure, very mindful era, and she wants everyone who follows her to know it.

Apparently, so does her glam squad. Just two days after the multihyphenate posted her own take on the “very demure, very mindful” meme—Lopez shared a Reel delicately drinking from a bottle of Delola, her crafted cocktail band—Lopez’s go-to celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik shared a behind-the-scenes photo of one of Lopez’s most popular low-key manis.

“Goddess ✨ No one does it like J.Lo in Dolce & Gabbana ❤️,” Bachik, who’s also known for manicuring the likes of Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, and Margot Robbie, captioned the post. While it’s not the highest-quality photo of Lopez over all, the elegant, almond-shaped French mani is impossible to miss: While Bachik posted this photo on August 19, 2024, we recognized the nails in question as the popular American manicure Lopez debuted last fall.

That said, upon further inspection of Lopez’s very demure, very mindful Reel—as well as her Dior photo shoot alongside a convertible from August 16—it seems the star is rocking the exact same manicure style in present day. This makes sense: The American mani is a classic style that works as well now as it did in fall 2023. Lopez and Bachik are likely just soft-launching her 2024 take on the trend, given how well it works for transitioning from brat summer into demure fall.

If you were hoping for a better look at Lopez’s current nails, you’re in luck. Based on some beauty sleuthing—well, really, scrolling—Bachik actually shared an up-close photo of the American mani in late July. “My infamous American Mani on Jennifer Lopez 🤍,” he captioned the post.

So did Lopez: The 52-year-old seemed to be wearing the look in her birthday mirror selfie as well as a selfie taken in bed a few days prior.
