10 Of the best nail salons in Toms River according to you are on this list. There must be dozens upon dozens of nail salons in Toms River. How many are actually worth going to?
After living in Toms River for several years it took me 6 years and nearly a dozen visits to various nail salons to find a great nail technician. I needed to find the person who was going to give me their undivided attention and not rush me through an appointment so they can get the next client in the chair,
I have gel overlays, and I like that they keep my nails looking smooth and keep them from breaking. I like my nails slightly longer and either filed into points or coffin shape. Lately I have my guy file them to sharp points. I think it looks sexy and somewhat dangerous.
Gel overlays are a nail service that involves applying a gel product to natural nails to strengthen them and smooth out any texture or irregularities.
What Steps Go Into Gel Nails?
Prepare the nails: Push back cuticles, buff the nail plate with an electric file, and clean the nails with a dust-free brush or pad.
Apply products: Apply an acid-free primer, a base coat of gel with a brush
Cure: Place the nails under a UV lamp to cure the products.
Build up: Apply a build-up gel layer, then file the gel into the desired shape.
Smooth: Use a polishing block to smooth out any unevenness.
Apply polish: Apply gel polish and cure again under the UV lamp.
Finish: Apply a topcoat and cure, then apply cuticle oil.
I told you it was a lot of work. The cost for your first set varies from place to place. Gel overlays begin in cost at $40 and go upwards of $100 for a full set. The price is dependent on the length of the nails, the choice of color finish, and whether or not you add crystals or designs.
Then there’s the 2-to-4-week fill-in or maintenance. I go every 4 weeks to get my gel fill ins. I’ve paid anywhere between $40 and $60 depending on the place. Even the most expensive places I’ve been to sucked.
Late last year I found a guy I’m happy with thanks to the recommendations on the Toms River and Ocean County Community pages I normally visit.
I’m reluctant to give you his name, but I will because he and his wife own this small business, and I want to help them continue to thrive. I want all of our local businesses to thrive.
I’ll tell you where I go in the list below which is made up of places recommended by the community pages I mentioned above, and they all have a complete list of nail services including regular manicures, pedicures, gel services…etc.
Let’s take a look at the 10 places most mentioned by members of the Toms River community.
