London-based label Fruity Booty just dropped its second collaboration with stylist Riccardo Maria Chiacchio, marking the brand’s first-ever unisex offering. The collection, titled “September Melancholy” captures the fleeting nature of summer and the undeniable impact it leaves on us.
Celebrating the joy of the season and how we feel when it ends, the collection also takes inspiration from Peppino di Capri’s 1958 song “Melancolie.” Comprising a long-sleeved top, tank top and shorts, the collection looks to capture “the raw beauty of summer,” aka the season “when we, as humans, are most wild and free; when we feel the sun on our skin, the salt in our hair, and the ocean only for it to end too soon, leaving us with regrets.”
Following a subtle color palette of teal and white, the collection aims to offer transitional pieces that can be worn from Summer to Winter. Each piece comes complete with a special tag, offering its wearer the chance to write a personal note to a special someone, holding on to the concept of a summer romance.
