Taylor Swift’s Liquid Gold Manicure Is Perfect for the Holidays—Here’s How to Get the Look

If there is one thing Taylor Swift does flawlessly, it’s meticulously style every detail of her look—from her clothes to her hair and yes, even her manicure.

While attending the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game last week to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce, Taylor rocked an adorable manicure that totally took the spotlight against her all-black outfit. The gold metallic nail with spots of red was perfectly matched to the Chiefs’ signature colors, making it yet another reason we’re obsessed with Swift and Kelce’s relationship (who isn’t!?). But beyond that, the gilded mani is seemingly perfect for decking the halls.

“Taylor Swift’s gilded nails are a fantastic inspiration for holiday nail designs,” says Jin Soon Choi, celebrity manicurist and founder of JINsoon Nail Lacquer. “The combination of a classic red base with accents of gold chrome adds a touch of elegance and warmth—perfect for the season ahead.”

Though it’s not a hint at the singer’s highly-anticipated release of Reputation, Taylor’s Version (sigh), we’re just as excited to get our hands on this design.

How to Get the Look

Gold manicures aren’t a foreign concept for the winter season, but Taylor’s cool metallic tone gives an almost molten gold hue that is a fresh take on the timeless color. To achieve at home, celebrity manicurist Mazz Hanna recommends using a shimmery gold polish—Lunar Love by Dazzle Dry is a good dupe for Taylor’s color. Then, apply two coats of your favorite topcoat to get that extra glossy, high-shine finish.

For a more professional styling, Choi recommends starting with a red base color and applying two coats of this to ensure the color pops through the gold. Next—and this is key for achieving the gilded effect—use a dip brush or sponge in gold chrome powder or nail polish and lightly dab it onto the red base. “You can also dip your pointer finger in gold chrome powder and rub it onto the red base,” says Choi. This can be achieved with gel or regular polish, depending on your preference.
