Vijayawada: NTR district police on Thursday arrested one K Mohan Rao (45), who has been involved in property offences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The cops have recovered over 26 lakh worth gold ornaments and 1 lakh cash from the accused.
Mohan is native of Kanukuru village of Ponnuru mandal in Guntur district and is currently residing in Tuni town of Kakinada district.
NTR commissioner of police SV Rajasekhar Babu said that Mohan is a habitual offender and had been involved in at least 40 property offences in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema, Eluru, Krishna, Guntur, NTR and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad in Telangana. He was also arrested for the same.
The investigation revealed that Mohan was addicted to cannabis and liquor and took the crime route to meet his vices. He used to conduct recce in the morning and broke into other people’s houses in the night.
Recently, Mohan committed crimes in Vijayawada city, Prakasam, Palnadu, Konaseema and Bapatla districts. Based on the credible information, police nabbed the habitual offender.
