Trashion is ON next Sunday (Aug. 27) from 6-8 p.m. at the stage in Kit Carson Park. Arguably the most fun and most widely-attended Taos event of the year for both locals and visitors, the Glam Trash Fashion Show hasn’t missed a beat since its founding in 2001. And it’s all free — free to enter and free to watch.
Warrior women, ocean protectors, kings and queens of wastelands and a dumpster-diving diva are just some of the many characters that grace Glam’s runways of recycled fashion. Last year’s “Robot of Love” got 5,000 hits of Instagrammers watching the boy in boxes dance on Taos Plaza gazebo’s stage, according to Glam Trash organizer Sara Basehart, who took over in 2015, relieving Glam Trash founders Jean Nichols and Nicole Kowalski of their trashionista duties.
