Four inter-state gang members arrested, stolen booty of Rs 23.78 lakh recovered

Kolhapur, Sep 21 (UNI) The Local Crime Branch (LCB) on Wednesday arrested four members of an inter-state gang and recovered from them gold ornaments, cash and other valuables collectively worth Rs 23.78 lakh.

Briefing reporters here, district superintendent of police Mahendra Pandit said that acting on a tip off, an LCB team laid a trap at Tavade Hotel area on Pune-Bangalore national highway and arrested four robbers of inter-state gang.

During questioning, suspected accused confessed to 18 house break-ins and robberies in limits of Kagal, Bhudargad, Gadhinglaj, Hatkanangale, Radhanagari, Vadgaon and Juna Rajwada police stations of the district.

Police recovered 328 gram gold ornaments, cash of Rs 1,52,190 and other materials, collectively worth Rs 23,78,570.

The arrested accused were identified as Bagarali Ahamadaali (34), Musaundiali Rajuali (both from Parali Vaijnath of Beed district), Mujahidali Miskilali (34) and Gulamali Faridin Irani (40) (both from Bidar in Karnataka).

Further investigation is underway, he added.
