    ABOUT SAINT LAURENT

    Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio- cultural landscape.
    In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April
    2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe.
    Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear.

    We are currently seeking a Jr. Accountant who will report to the Accounting Manager as part of our dynamic team in New Jersey.

    YOUR OPPORTUNITY

    This member of the Finance Department will support in the collection and preparation of financial information during month and year-end closing process while meeting all deadlines. The Jr. Accountant will support team members in the day to day monitoring of accurate coding and reporting of financials (actuals and accruals) according to Kering and IFRS guidelines.

    HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

    • Support Saint Laurent Americas including but not limited to: USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Panama
    • Work with Kering Shared Service, external BPOs and the Finance team during the monthly and year-end closing
      • Responsible for initial compilation and setting up of Margin Files
      • Monthly preparation and recording of recurring and not recurring Journal entries in ERP system
      • Analysis of monthly activity of certain elements of the PL
      • Backup support for financial uploads in HFM
    • Maintain a clean Trial Balance by ensuring timely completion of balance sheet recs for all business units
    • Daily approve of invoices in Invoice approval tool for the Americas Region
    • Assist management in the compilation and preparation of support for annual external audit as well Group Internal audits
    • Support management on ad hoc analyses and special projects
    • Aid Controller & Assistant Controller in the monitoring of internal control compliance, SOPs, etc

    WHO YOU ARE

    • Bachelors Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus
    • 1+ years accounting role experience; Retail experience a plus
    • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures  
    • Advanced technical skills (Excel, Pivot Tables, V Lookup, SUMIFS)
    • Core competencies and traits:
      • Strong problem-solving skills
      • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
      • Ability to research, analyze and evaluate data and prepare concise written reports and presentations
      • Ability to multi-task while maintaining critical deadlines
      • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and counterparts overseas
      • Aggressively anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and have a very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
    • System savvy and self-motivated to learn new technology and participate in new projects; SAP experience a plus
    • Position is based in New Jersey, willingness to travel to NY Office as needed
