The New Supreme Court Ethics Code Is…Okay?

Appreciate the AO hosts responding to our comments.

I do have two more comments/ questions regarding the Bari Weiss speech.

1. I think one of the criticisms that wasn’t really addressed, was the “preaching to the choir” nature of the speech. Yes, she called out the illiberal, as well as anti-Semitic, element of the Left… to the Right, to people who already agreed with her criticisms. So, what did the speech actually accomplish? Just fire up the Right to fight the Left harder?

(It occurs to me that critics of David have also expressed skepticism of what a conservative writing a column calling out the illiberal elements of the Right, but doing so to readers mostly from the Left, actually can accomplish, as well).

2. Another question I had was, I totally agree with David on the dangers of treating people not as individuals, but mere cogs in an oppressive system.

But I recall that last year, David himself defended the usefulness of some elements of Critical Race Theory, that IMO *does* do exactly that, treats people not as individuals, but mere cogs in an oppressive system.

Is David reconsidering his stance again?
