Burglar arrested in NTR district Vijayawada: Nandigama police | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Nandigama police of NTR district arrested a burglar and recovered about 156 grams of gold, and 8.8 grams of silver ornaments, a car, a bike, and 40,000 in cash from the accused. Total worth of the booty was pegged at 20 lakh. The arrested was identified as Shaik Altaf (43) of Prakasam district.
According to police, after receiving multiple complaints of house burglaries, three special teams were formed.The accused was arrested near Anasagaram village at new bypass service road in Nandigama town. Altaf discontinued his studies in class seven and started working as a daily wage labourer. Altaf who was addicted to vices, hatched a plan to commit burglary at locked houses to earn easy money.
He committed offences in Guntur, Kodada, Khammam, Kakinada, and NTR districts. He was arrested many times in the past. About 70 cases are registered against him in multiple police stations.

Arrest murder accused soon
Members of Dalit Sene in Kalaburagi protested by placing the body of a Dalit leader in front of the DCs office, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible for his murder. The leader was assaulted by villagers and died after 18 days. Four of the accused have been arrested, but three are still at large. The Dalit Sene leader urged the government to arrest the remaining accused. In other news, three para shooters from Hubballi won medals at the National Para Shooting Championship, and the University of Agricultural Sciences in Dharwad will host a three-day VC meeting on climate-smart agriculture.
