Things may have gone quiet on the theatrical side of the Jurassic Park franchise, but to quote The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), “something has survived.”
LEGO Jurassic Park: The Unofficial Retelling (2023) recently premiered on Peacock, while Netflix’s Geeked Week ’23 has unveiled the first trailer for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (2024), the animated follow-up to Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (2020 — 2022).

Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection (2023) has also been released, while the Jurassic World Evolution titles continue to keep fans happy.
Let’s also not forget the six films: Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World (2015), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), and Jurassic World Dominion (2022), as well as the short films you can watch online.

This year also marks the 30th anniversary for Steven Spielberg’s original film, and celebrations have seen tribute stores pop up in Universal Studios and the cast from the 1993 classic reuniting for a special commemorative video.
But while Universal Pictures has gone oddly quiet on future projects — with the exception of Chaos Theory — fans are still hungry for more dinosaur action. Fortunately, more is coming.

The Jurassic Park franchise features just as many prehistoric villains as it does human ones. Each film in the series has one or more lead dinosaur antagonists: Jurassic Park and The Lost World put the Velociraptors and the Tyrannosaurus Rex at center stage; Jurassic Park III introduces the Spinosaurus; Jurassic World meddles with dino-hybrids and sees the Indominus Rex tearing up the park; Fallen Kingdom has a smaller hybrid in the Indoraptor; and Dominion pits our human heroes against the Giganotosaurus.

Terrifying dinosaurs are the bread and butter of this incredibly popular franchise, and though there are a couple of iconic human baddies, such as Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) and Henry Wu (BD Wong), the rest pale in comparison against the dinosaurs, and ultimately amount to nothing more than chum.
So it’s no surprise that the park management simulation game Jurassic World Evolution 2 (2021) continues introducing more species of dinosaurs than the film series can even keep up with. Since its release two years ago, the game has featured several expansions, AKA DLCs (downloadable content).

Earlier this year, it finally introduced prehistoric marine reptiles such as the Mosasaurus with the Prehistoric Marine Species Pack, taking the franchise underwater for the first time, something the last three films barely scratched the surface of.
Now, the popular game has unleashed four never-before-seen Cretaceous carnivores. Check out the new trailer for Cretaceous Predator Pack, per the game’s official YouTube channel:

Per the official website for the game, the four new dinosaurs in question are: Gigantoraptor, Utahraptor, Concavenator, and Tarbosaurus. The caption beneath the video reveals that the Cretaceous Predator Pack launches on November 30th.
You may have seen these dinosaurs appear in the toy lines, but this is the first time they’ve been given center stage in canon (the game’s campaign mode is considered 100% canon with the Jurassic Park film series).

Chaos Theory releases on Netflix sometime in 2024.
