Big booty on offer for QBred yearlings at Gold Coast

Intending purchasers at the Australian Pacing Gold sale at Magic Millions, Gold Coast on Sunday, January 28 will have the added incentive of rich bonuses being offered through the QBred scheme.

Of the 84 yearlings listed in the catalogue, 81 are QBred eligible.

More than $3.6million in QBred bonuses was paid to owners and breeders in the 2023 racing season.

A total of $2,464,000 was paid out in First Win Bonuses, $885,000 was distributed in Second Win Bonuses, $141,000 in Third Win Bonuses and $143,000 in Cash bonuses.

As part of the QBred for Life scheme, First Win Bonuses worth $14,000 are paid out to eligible two-year-old or older pacers and trotters, Second Win Bonuses worth $7,500 are for three-year-old or older pacers and trotters and Third Win Bonuses valued at $3,000 are for four or five-year-olds. $1,000 Cash bonuses are available on selected races.

QBred eligible yearlings can compete in the Group 1 Triad offering 150,000 Finals for two-year-old pacers of both sexes, $150,000 Finals for three-year-old pacers of both sexes, $75,000 Finals for four-year-old pacers of both sexes, a $50,000 Final for two-year-old trotters and a $50,000 Final for three-year-old trotters.

They are also eligible for the QBred Breeders Classic Series carrying $25,000 Finals and $12,500 Consolations for two and three-year-old pacers of both sexes.

Besides the QBred Bonus Scheme, yearlings are eligible for the NSW Breeders Challenge. Vicbred, Breeders Crown, Bathurst Gold Crown and Need For Speed.
