Man accused of fatal stabbing after fight in Lafourche Parish

LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that they have made an arrest in the recent stabbing death of a man in Mathews.

According to Sheriff Craig Webre, around 12:20 p.m. on Feb. 18, deputies were called to the scene of a stabbing on Adams Street. Upon arrival, 18-year-old Tre’ Booty was found with what appeared to be blood on his clothes in a nearby vehicle.

The victim, 20-year-old Hunter Parks, was located a short time later with stab wounds to his torso, according to deputies. Life-saving efforts were done until EMTs arrived, who later pronounced Parks dead.

Booty was identified as the person responsible and arrested.

An investigation revealed Parks and Booty were involved in a fight at Parks’ mother’s home when Booty allegedly stabbed him several times.

Booty was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder with a bail of $500,000.
