Summer brings with it the promise of warmth and hot days, but it also carries along with it fun manicures for us to try out, beach days, and most importantly – vacays.
While you’re busy packing your next bikini, we’ve rounded up the nail trends of the season for you to try out. We’re talking muted patterns, ‘quiet luxury’ manis, coloured French tips, aura nails, and a lot more.
In terms of shape and style, there’s no holding back. The almond stiletto’s moment is still on and not going anywhere anytime soon. But short squared-out edges are here to stay, too. There’s no single line these trends are treading on, and it makes putting this piece together that much more interesting.
The French ++
We Never Go Out Of Style
The classic French manicure is still very much a thing. And we’re seeing it come back in better renditions, too. From a thin, classic white French band at the tip of your nail to an exaggerated one that covers half of it, to a simple dust of chrome powder, I don’t think we’ll ever get tired of working a classic ‘90s manicure.
3D Flurry
We’ve been seeing a lot of textured 3D nails, not necessarily only bedazzled embellishments but also lifted enamel. Patterns like swirls are extremely popular with monochrome nails, and shapes like flowers, too!
Keep It Short And Sweet
A neutral manicure is always stylish. We’re seeing a lot of sheers as well as skin tone and nude shades trending this summer. From one ‘funny bunny’ to another, we totally recommend going short and sweet if you want a break from the OTT.
Milky White, Pearly White, All White
A milky white base with a chrome finish or a pearly white sleek manicure has been brought to the forefront of the clean girl aesthetic. Popularly described as the ‘stealth-wealth’ shade, this is the route you want to go on if you have a whole lot of fancy brunches planned for the early weeks of summer.
Pigment Pops
Who doesn’t love a little hint of colour? Especially when it’s summer! A notch down from the December trendy kaleidoscopic, psychedelic nail art, these pops of colour on a simple base or nude tone can make your manicure stand out amongst the crowd.
Recognise The Pattern
Some may argue that a manicure is the best form of self-expression, I mean you’re practically looking at it 24/7. From bold swirls to abstract designs and patterns to flowers, and patterned Frenches, and even a mix of them all, these designs are all set to be a big part of our Summer ‘24.
Blend It Out
An ombré but make it fun. Who says an ombré needs to be only with two colours, and only upwards or downwards on your nail? This blended contrast makes your manicure look like an abstract watercolour painting.

From snakeskin (not too popular but wacky enough to make the list), to leopard prints, the OTT girls are not holding back either.
Aura Nails
Who wouldn’t want a mood ring for their nails? Aura nails have recently made their way into the mainstream, and they’re fun and quirky, which is everything a summer manicure needs to be. Pick the colour you want your aura to exude and choose your mood for the next two to three weeks.
