“Going to sack him a lot” “Hell yeah booty” – CFB world reacts to General Booty’s new football team

General Booty has transferred to Louisiana-Monroe, and fans can’t wait to see what’s next in store for the Texas-born quarterback. He entered the transfer portal on May 2, 2024, and he has now chosen the Warhawks as his next stop.

Booty is from a footballing family as two of his uncles played in the NFL (Josh Booty and John David Booty). He has had quite the journey as he went to four different high schools, and Louisiana-Monroe will be his third college.

General Booty’s transfer to Louisiana-Monroe has generated a host of reactions from college football fans online. Here’s a look at a couple of them.

“ULM breaking the bank for this one,” a fan wrote.

“Good luck young man!” another fan wrote.

“Nope I’m gonna take him in NCAA 25,” a fan commented.

“Ouch. Mighty drop,” another fan commented.

General Booty college career so far

General Booty was a three-star recruit straight from high school and only received offers from JUCO. He started his college football career at Tyler Junior College, where he played and started all 12 games for the Apaches, leading the team to a 7–5 record.

Booty dominated JUCO, throwing for 3,410 yards and 27 touchdowns in his freshman season. He also rushed 70 times for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He led the NJCAA in completions (266), attempts (436), and passing yards. This earned him Division I offers.

The quarterback transferred to Oklahoma in 2022, but he had a very dismal tenure with the program. He played in two games for the Sooners, recording no stats in either matchup. He has now decided to join Louisiana Monroe for his last two years of eligibility.

What does the future hold for Booty at Louisiana Monroe?

General Booty is expected to secure the starting role for the Warhawks next season. Despite not recording any statistics at Oklahoma, Booty’s JUCO performances are enough to convince Louisiana Monroe’s head coach that he will thrive on his team.

Booty comes from a family that has produced NFL quarterbacks, and despite the slim chance, he wants to follow in their footsteps. John David Booty was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2008 NFL draft, while Josh Booty was drafted in 2001 by the Seattle Seahawks.

It is up to General Booty himself to bring back his JUCO form with the Warhawks in the upcoming season. Louisiana Monroe’s head coach, Bryan Vincent, already has high hopes for the quarterback, and fans are waiting to see how he lives up to these expectations in 2024.
