WWE star Alexa Bliss has revealed her role in a newly released Netflix series based on the career of a Japanese wrestling legend.
Officially released today (September 19), Netflix’s new five-part drama series: ‘The Queen of Villains’ focuses on the career of former All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling legend Dump Matsumoto.
The official synopsis for the series is as follows:
Dump Matsumoto overcomes conflicts to become one of the most famous heels in Japanese history as she tries to prove her own worth as a wrestler in a world filled with gender inequality.
Now that the series is out, one of its cast members has revealed themselves to have taken part in the English voice over, none other than absent WWE star Alexa Bliss.
As confirmed by Bliss on Twitter, she plays the role of Japanese artist Maki Ueda in the show, something she called an “honor” in her post.
Bliss wrote:
Such an honor to voiceover For Maki Ueda in the incredible series “The Queen of Villians”!
Thank you to the amazing team & @netflix for this unforgettable experience
Check out “The Queen of Villians” now available on Netflix!! I loved every second of it
Despite her most prominent run coming in the 1980s, Matsumoto has continued to compete sporadically throughout the 2000s, with her most recent bout coming on August 11 for Shonan Pro Wrestling.
As for Bliss, her last WWE appearance came at the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble, with the multi-time former Women’s Champion giving birth to her first child in November 2023.
