As we head into the Christmas party season, those of us who schedule regular nail appointments are faced with two ‘important’ (let’s take this word lightly) decisions: when should we book our next appointment and what gel colour or nail art should we go for.
While we can’t help with the first dilemma (just bear in mind any manicure you choose from the 1st of December will likely see you through the entire festive period, unless you can bag another appointment), we do have an answer for the second.
Last weekend, Adele took the stage for the 48th weekend of her Las Vegas residency in a black, custom Loro Piana gown, an effortlessly chic half-up, half-down hairdo, her signature flick – and the sharpest chrome French tip possible.
The Turning Tables singer has celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt on speed dial for her manicures, and in her latest creation she married two of our favourite low-maintenance nail trends – a minimalist French manicure and a maximalist chrome effect.
Ganzorigt, who is also Hailey Bieber’s long-time nail artist and designed most (if not all) of the her viral manicure moments, including the ‘glazed donut nails’, started with a nude base colour, before painting the singer’s long, almond-shaped tips in gold with a mirror-like finish.
She didn’t share exactly what products she used on Instagram, but it shouldn’t be too tricky to ask your nail tech to recreate Adele’s gold chrome French tips. After all, it’s one of the most popular designs right now, says The GelBottle founder Daisy Kalnina.
‘The metallic, reflective finish instantly elevates the classic French manicure, adding an eye-catching detail that feels perfect for the festive season,’ Kalnina adds. ‘Plus, the versatility of the chrome effect means it is suitable for various occasions through December, whether you opt for a subtle silver shimmer or a gold, jewel-toned hue.’
