Adele’s 3D Manicure Says “Midas Touch”

The autumn equinox has now passed, meaning that the season of falling leaves, Halloween and general cosiness is in full swing. We’re reflecting the autumnal mood via our manicures too – it’s traditional to swap pastels, brights and milky nudes for an autumnal palette at this time of year. Think burgundy, berry tones, burnished brown shades and – if Adele is anything to go by – gold.

Taking the term “Midas touch” quite literally, the singer and glamazon performed on the 28th weekend of her Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace with talons that looked as though they had been dipped in gold. Featuring swirling gold 3D detailing, the molten look was set on long, oval nails. They were created (and masterminded) by manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, the woman responsible for making the glazed doughnut manicure – and many other nail trends – happen.

Golden shades, as well as light-reflecting chromes, are a great way to add a little glamour to your autumn manicure. Warm and flattering, they feel seasonally appropriate but fun, and will look just as fabulous when the festive period hits. Whether you opt for an all-over colour or supercharge the look with some amorphous nail art, consider gold the next time you visit your nail tech.
