Beauty fans will be delighted to hear that Aldi is bringing back a fan-favourite product this summer. The Lacura booty balm, which costs £4.99 for 250ml, will be available in stores while stocks last.
The moisturiser garnered attention online as content creators compared it to a luxury £38 version. According to some shoppers, the booty balm is “exactly the same” as the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian bum bum cream.
Aldi says that the balm is formulated with “skin-loving ingredients” including Amazonian guaraná extract, cupuacu butter and coconut oil.
“Scented with coconut, jasmine and orange, the balm offers a fast-absorbing moisturiser that will effortlessly melt onto the skin while leaving a visibly firmer and sumptuously silky finish,” Aldi says.
One Tiktoker tested the Aldi version compared to the Sol de Janeiro cream in a video posted online. Account Tuba Reviews explained: “Got my hands on the bum bum cream dupe from Aldi. So let’s do a dupe test.
“First, the packaging. As you can tell, they are not quite the same. I mean, the bottom is inspired by the round bottom from the original one.”
She then tested the scent of each product. “Do a quick smell test,” she said. “I am obsessed with the smell of the original bum bum cream and this one, it smells similar, but it doesn’t smell quite the same. But I don’t think you’d be able to tell.”
Testing the product on her skin, Tuba Reviews said: “Let’s see how they feel on the skin.
“So this one [Sol de Janerio] feels a bit less liquid. This one’s [the Aldi version] very kind of liquidy, but both feel exactly the same – make your skin feel super soft and make it smell so good.”
A 240ml tub of the Sol de Janeiro cream is currently on sale from Beauty Bay for £38.40.
