Andhra Pradesh: Police arrest five thieves, recover booty worth Rs.40 lakh | Amaravati News

TIRUPATI: Tirupati district police wing arrested five notorious thieves involved in multiple theft cases and recovered stolen property from the possession of the accused on Sunday.
Tirupati SP P Parameswara Reddy told reporters that the five thieves arrested by the police were identified as Kachileti Venkatesh, M Manikantan, P Gemini, R Lokesh and Shaik Masthan.
Parameswara Reddy observed that all the accused were seasoned offenders involved in about 28 theft cases registered at multiple police stations across the Tirupati district.
They were also involved in a few similar cases registered at the Nangili police station in Karnataka bordering Andhra Pradesh.
Police recovered 15 motorbikes, 393 grams weighing gold ornaments, silver articles weighing 100 grams, Rs.1.9 lakh cash etc from the possession of the accused.
Tirupati SP appreciated crime department additional SP Vimala Kumari and her team for arresting the accused and recovering the stolen property.
