Ballerific Music: Women In Rap Who Deserve More Attention This Year

In an age where female rappers dominate the charts and sell out arenas, a few have yet to reach such heights, though they are undoubtedly climbing the ranks.

While we are widely familiar with hip-hop superstars such as Cardi B, Ice Spice, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, and Nicki Minaj, several other women in rap have been building their fan bases for years. While they have yet to achieve the mainstream accolades as some of their peers, the music has never lacked.

Take Detroit native Kash Doll, for instance. This boss chick initially made her mark in hip-hop back in 2015 with the release of “Run Me My Money.” This would lead to her first mixtape,  “Keisha vs. Kash Doll,” that same year. Though she has been in the industry for several years, fans have frequently pointed out how Kash deserves more recognition, especially after her most popular single, “For Everybody,” took over the internet in July 2018.

Thankfully, for fans of women in rap, there is a list of talented MCs to whom we should all pay attention in 2024. Even better, several of these artists have dropped new music this year.

Kash Doll – “Kash Kommandments” (June 2024)

Monaleo – “Don Who Leo” (January 2024)

Omeretta – “Hot 97 Freestyle” (May 2024)

Flau’Jae – “Pop It” (June 2024)

K Carbon – “No Opps” (July 2024)
