Bathinda Police: Amandeep Kaur Arrested with Heroin After Viral Reels | Chandigarh News – The Times of India

Punjabi songs, luxury bags and a Thar: How Punjab cop Amandeep Kaur mocked own force in viral reels despite 'ban'

BATHINDA: Punjab Police personnel are strictly prohibited from making and sharing social media reels in uniform, a rule aimed at maintaining professionalism and preventing misuse of the police emblem. However, Constable Amandeep Kaur flouted this policy, posting videos with Punjabi songs—some even mocking the police force—while flaunting a lavish lifestyle.
Known for her online presence, Kaur often posted reels featuring expensive accessories, branded handbags, and even dressing up her Shih Tzu pet dog in designer outfits. Some of her videos included controversial lyrics, such as: “Tu aankhen tal ja ni kiddan taliye, puthe kamaan vich taan police rali ai…” (You ask me to stop doing wrong things, but how can I stop when police itself backs us in such wrongdoings).
In another viral reel, she posed in her police uniform with sunglasses near her Thar, while a Punjabi song played: “Four by four di shaukeen lagdi, bina picche vekhe Thar back layi. Oh MK ke bag vich raund rakhdi, kuri agg de bhabhooke vaangu phire machdi.” (She is fond of 4×4 vehicles and reverses her Thar without looking back. She keeps bullet rounds in her branded MK bag and is very attractive).
Now, she has been dismissed from service, just a day after her arrest for carrying 17.71 grams of heroin. The action comes as part of Punjab’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nasheian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs).
17.71gm heroin
Police and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) intercepted Kaur’s Mahindra Thar near the Badal flyover in Bathinda on Wednesday evening. “Upon search, police found 17.71 gm of heroin from Kaur’s possession,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (City-1) Harbans Singh. Her vehicle was impounded.
Kaur was arrested near ‘Laadli Dhee Chowk’ while reportedly coming from the area. The operation was led by Bathinda Sadar SHO Anubhav Jain.
Police sources revealed that authorities had already been monitoring her social media activity. Following the drug recovery, she is now under investigation to determine her involvement in the illegal trade.
