Beyoncé In a Denim Ad Must, Of Course, Include Denim Nail Art

It was all but completely inevitable after Cowboy Carter came out and there was a track called “Levii’s Jeans.” Spelling aside, it was just a matter of time before Beyoncé and the legendary denim brand, Levi’s, came together to collaborate on a campaign. And that time is now.

A new commercial and accompanying photo shoot recreate the famous 1985 Levi’s “Lauderette” ad. In it, Beyoncé strolls into a laundromat (not exactly her usual hangout) in a denim cowboy hat, white cropped tee, and, of course, Levi’s jeans, which she removes and puts in a washing machine after loading it was a bucket of glitter. (Listen, it doesn’t have to make sense—it’s Beyoncé.) But if you blink, you’ll miss one of the best parts of her look: her manicure.

Denim on denim may not be for everyone, but Beyoncé proves it’s for her by wearing not only jeans and a denim hat but also denim-inspired nails. A good zoom-in on the shot of the superstar’s belt (which shows the brand’s logo spelled the Bey way) reveals that her extra-long, softly pointed nails are decked out in a shade of blue that complements the wash of her jeans.

Each nail has white accents, on most nails resembling the patterns on a bandanna, but on her ring fingers, the white is used to mimic the fraying of ripped denim, “revealing” a skin-tone shade “underneath.” That said shade can be found as the base of her thumbs, middle fingers, and pinkies in a French manicure-esque contrast.
