Burglar makes off with HK$2 million worth of luxury handbags in Tsim Sha Tsui

A Tsim Sha Tsui store was robbed of 20 handbags worth HK$2 million on Friday morning.

At about 9 am today, a shop owner surnamed Lo came back to open his shop in China Minmetals Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui.

He saw that the glass door had been broken, and about 20 handbags worth more than HK$2 million in total, were stolen from one of the counters where the HERMÈS handbags were placed, including the very popular Mini Kelly, so he notified the building security guard to report the crime.

Lo checked the security camera footage and confirmed that the thief had sneaked in and committed the burglary.

In the footage, the thief was a man wearing a dark shirt, trousers and a flat cap.

At about 7 am today, he broke the glass door of the store and entered.

He picked up about 20 handbags at the HERMÈS counter and packed them into two bags and a backpack, the whole burglary took less than 5 minutes.

Lo believes that the thief is familiar with the store, and he does not rule out that he may have come to check area out before and targeted the HERMÈS handbags.
