It’s National purse day and nothing says “I’ve made it” like needing a closet just to keep your luxury handbags. On October 9, rapper Cardi B showed us that she’s not like us, taking fans inside her closet to show off an insane collection of Birkins, the highly-coveted luxury bags from Hermés – oh, and a few pairs of sunglasses too.
The “I Like It” rapper posted a series of Instagram stories full of shots of her purses, including three crocodile leather bags in an assortment of fall colors that were the stars of the show.
“My new three,” Cardi wrote about the mustard, grey and burgundy group, ““Had to get right for the fall.”
The rest of the tour showed off a color-coordinated collection of bags in various shapes and sizes that could rival the stock at your favorite high-end department store.
The Birkin, which hit the scene in 1984, was inspired by actress Jane Birkin, who while sitting on a flight next to Hermès’ then-chairman Jean-Louis Dumas talked about needing a tote bag that was half the size of her suitcase.
The bags can range in price between $12,000 and $2 million, which means Cardi is over there sitting on a small fortune.
“I’m really running out of space,” she said about her floor-to-ceiling display.
But it wasn’t all about the new bags, Cardi took time to show some of the classic totes in her collection.
“And I got my day ones with me,” she said. “I still love my plain Janes.”

This isn’t the first time the rapper has shared her beloved bags with fans. Back in 2020, she posted a picture of herself next to a display of Birkins with the caption, “Pick a color.”
