The Brixton MegaPop party is returning to the Effra Social tonight (Friday, 20th Sept) and we’re going to be turning it into a celebration of Chappell Roan and other great pop acts.
We’ll be running from 10pm to 1am, it’s free entry all night – and we’re only 5 mins by bus or a ten minute walk away from the O2 Academy!
As well as Chappell, our DJs will be throwing down huge party tunes from the likes of Taylor Swift, ABBA, Olivia Rodrigo, Sugababes, Cher and Fleetwood Mac, plus disco, Britpop, 80s, 90s and 00s and more!
Here’s some snaps from some recent shows:
About the music
We don’t take ourselves too seriously and the music policy is: paaaaaaarty, so we’re talking:
Taylor Swift, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Backstreet Boys, Pulp, Cher, Ariana Grande, Chappell Roan, Eminem, Kate Perry, Kate Bush, The Cure, Missy Elliot, Kylie, The Smiths, Blur, Pixies, Fratellis, Le Tigre, Human League, Bob Marley, Killers, Blur, Bon Jovi, Outkast, Sugababes, Beatles, Olivia Rodrigo, Earth, Wind & Fire, B52s, The Clash, System Of A Down, White Stripes, Kate Nash, Blink 182, Cyndi Lauper, Natasha Bedingfield, Blur, Amy Winehouse, Sean Paul, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and more!
And yes, we do sometimes play requests (if we have them) unless:
- (a) they’re rubbish
- (b) we’ve just played them while you were having a fag or
- (c) you’re unable to articulate human sounds
