Co-op Castlevania-Like ‘Gal Guardians: Servants Of The Dark’ Unveils Opening Movie Featuring Demon Baddies

Inti Creates has unveiled the opening movie for their upcoming 2D action-adventure title, Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark. This latest installment in the gothic-inspired series expands the setting from a single castle to the vast expanse of the Demon Realm.

The narrative follows demon maid sisters Kirika and Masha, who, upon returning to their castle, discover it in ruins due to an attack by rival Demon Lord Lyzenorg. With their master, Demon Lord Maxim, reduced to a mere skull, the sisters embark on a quest to restore him to his former glory. Players can seamlessly switch between Kirika, who wields demonic guns for long-range attacks, and Masha, who utilizes a whip for close-quarters combat. This dynamic allows for diverse strategies in navigating the Demon Realm’s challenges.

The opening movie introduces players to the game’s antagonists, setting the stage for the battles ahead. Complementing the visuals is the theme song “Maid in Nightmares,” performed by Natsumi Wakayama and Mai Sakurakawa, with composition by Ippo Yamada.

Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark is slated for digital release on March 27, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. Physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch are also planned, with release dates to be announced.

The game supports both local and online co-op play, allowing two players to control each sister, enhancing the cooperative experience. Additionally, a “Style” system offers adjustable difficulty levels—Casual, Veteran, and Legend—that can be switched at any time, ensuring accessibility for players of varying skill levels.
