The first weekend of Coachella 2025 brought plenty of standout style moments. When it comes to manicures, 3D nail art reigned supreme as the go-to look for some of our favorite A-listers. Hailey Bieber, Ariana Greenblatt, and Kylie Jenner all wore cool, textured manicures during the desert music festival, each with their own unique spin.
Bieber, who wore a radioactive green set last year, opted for a pretty pink manicure created by nail artist Britney Tokyo. On Bieber’s long almond shaped nails, Tokyo designed textured chrome swirls that almost work as an optical illusion. The 3D nail art creates depth, while the light-shifting chrome gives off the appearance of movement. All in all, a trippy manicure perfect for a weekend in Coachella Valley.
As for Greenblatt, nail artist Zola Ganzorigt opted for a mix and match set featuring different colors, shapes, and swirls. Ganzorigt, who created Bieber’s signature glazed donut nails look, used a combination of silver chrome, aura nail art, and French tips to create a truly custom set courtesy of OPI. Although Greenblatt’s nails were kept short and round, the design still stood out—proving that you don’t need super long nails to pull off 3D nail art.
Last but not least, Jenner took a more low-key approach with matte nude nails and silver chrome stars. Ganzorigt also created Jenner’s look, opting for a long almond shape to let the silver nail design shine. The contrast between the matte and chrome finishes helped create subtle dimension.
Feeling inspired? If you want to try your hand at a 3D mani, you’ll want to keep a few things in mind. “I truly believe that nailing the prep, choosing the right products, and using a gentle removal process make up 90% of the recipe for a long-lasting mani,” nail artist Isa Rodriguez previously told Glamour.
Nail artist Miki Higuchi also adds that it’s important to be extra careful with your hands. “Wear gloves when you do household chores, and don’t use your nails as tools, like for opening cans or packages,” she says.
Last but not least, if your 3D nail art starts to show signs of wear, make sure to get to your nail tech ASAP. “If chips or lifting do happen, skip the DIY fix,” says Rodriguez. “Messing with a damaged manicure is dangerous territory. And peeling off gel nails or fiddling with intricate 3D designs can damage the health of your nails, making future manis even shorter-lived.”
