Cocktails and nail fashion come together in a new, creative offering from On the Rocks.
On The Rocks (OTR) Cocktails collaborated with celebrity nail artist Sojin Oh to create a cocktail and nail kit, sold through Cocktail Courier.
Oh, who is responsible for the nails that walked the runway at Prisacvera and Dion Lee this New York Fashion Week (NYFW), created as set of press-on nails inspired by the brand’s creative cocktail line-up. The set of nails features five nails which represent five cocktails – the Cosmopolitan, the Old Fashioned, the Espresso Martini, the Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita and the White Negroni, and the press-on nail kit features five, 375 ml bottles of each cocktail. The kit is sold for $104.99.
The collaboration goes along with OTR’s ethos, as well as its sponsorship of NYFW for the second year in a row, says Healther Boyd, managing director of ready-to-drink at Beam Suntory. “We decided to collaborate with famed nail designer and NYFW regular Sojin Oh, as we see the same level of artistry and focus on craft in her nail art that both walks the runways at NYFW and that we see in our premium quality cocktails,” Boyd says.
“We take pride in our partnership, which has enabled us to produce custom-designed nail sets inspired by our cocktails, to highlight the hands that hold the cocktails and the craft behind them which are now available for purchase,” Boyd adds.
Made with Effen vodka, the Cosmopolitan features a nail with a vibrant lemon garnish atop a pretty pink nail base with lemon sculptures. The Old Fashioned, which is made with Knob Creek bourbon, features an amber-colored nail with a a singular, spherical ice cube crafted on top.
Also made with Effen vodka, the Espresso Martini highlights a classical French-tip design but with brown and black hues and an espresso-sized impression on the underside of the tip.
The Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita, made with Tres Generaciones tequila, boasts a solid, light yellow tone topped with what appears to be salt on the rim and ice cubes, as well as an extra two nails with the light lemon and ice cubes. The White Negroni, which is OTR’s newest cocktail made with Sipsmith gin, features a glamorous nail design with encapsulated lemon peel and gold flakes.
“This concept was particularly exciting to me, given I have picked up a bit of a mixology hobby myself,” says Oh. “Getting the opportunity to represent the craft that goes into a beautiful cocktail on the nails that hold that cocktail was such an energizing project with OTR. I’m thrilled to partner with OTR, which has allowed me to bring my custom runway nail trends from New York Fashion Week packaged with The Official Cocktails of NYFW within reach of people all across the country. I can’t wait to see everyone serve both nail looks and cocktails with this kit.”
