Dwyane Wade shows love to kids Zaya and Kaavia with latest nail art days after viral Noah Lyles shout

Dwyane Wade is a proud father to his five kids. Despite having fathered only Kaavia with his wife Gabrielle Union, Wade has frequently shown that he is one of the coolest dads out there. Earlier today (Aug. 8), Wade showed love to his daughters Zaya and Kaavia in a social media post.

2008 Olympic gold medalist Wade is in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, but this time he is covering basketball with NBC. He is with his family as he performs his Olympic duties. The Miami Heat legend posted a picture on his Instagram, sending love to his daughters with a pinch of creativity.

Wade’s love for nail paint is nothing new. In the IG post, Wade posted a picture with his new nail paint. He had his daughters’ names painted on his nails, with Zaya on his right hand and Kaavia on his left.

On Aug. 5, Wade sent a shoutout to American sprinter Noah Lyles after he won the gold medal in the 100m race at the Olympics. Sending a shoutout to Lyles, Wade wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter:

“And he got his nails painted 🤣 Say something.”

Lyles had gotten his nails painted before the race in red and blue colors. Dwyane Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union had also sent a series of shoutouts to the American sprinter, congratulating him for the win.

Dwyane Wade shares his struggle with parenting and an unconditional love for daughter Zaya Wade

Dwyane Wade has two children with his former wife Siohvaughn Funches, Zaire and Zaya Wade. After he won the custody battle with his former wife, Wade knew that the real responsibility was in the future. He was still in danger of losing the legal battle with his former wife.

In conversation with the “All The Smoke” podcast, he said he contacted many people around him to help him become a better parent. He also added that parenthood was something that benefitted him.

“When I decided to go for custody, I really didn’t have a lot of examples,” Wade said. “I really didn’t have too many people I could reach out to say, ‘Bro, how’s the process?'”

“It was uncharted waters, but it was all about just being in my kids’ lives.” He added, “But once I got that opportunity to be there more, I think it was beneficial for both of us…I needed them and they needed me.”

He later added that when his daughter Zaya came out as transgender in 2020, it was a difficult time for him because his daughter was scared to talk to him.

“I came home and I just remember my child being scared to talk to me, like hiding in my wife’s arm in a chair,” Wade said during an event in Ojai, California. “I think I’m this dad that’s like, ‘Hey, come and tell me anything! I’m a cool dad.’ And so I had to check myself.”

Zaya was born on May 29, 2007, when D-Wade was playing with the Miami Heat. It was the same year that Wade split from Funches. Four years later, in 2011, he got full custody of both Zaire and Zaya.
