Falcons top AIC in dramatic fashion, 4-3

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Hannah Gould came up with a dramatic win in singles competition to lead the Bentley women’s tennis team to a 4-3 win at American International Tuesday evening.

Gould’s bout on the No. 6 singles court was the final match of the evening. She won the first set, 6-3, but then dropped the second, 7-5. Gould bounced back with a 6-3 win in the third set, handing Bentley its second consecutive victory.

Adriana Hiraldo and Catalina Borrero dominated at No. 2 doubles, 6-0, but the Yellow Jackets wound up with the doubles point.

Remi LeSage won on the No. 2 singles court in two sets (6-2, 6-4). Borrero picked up her second win of the day, taking No. 3 singles in two sets (6-4, 6-1).

Similarly to Gould, Anna Lang came up big on the No. 4 singles court. She won the first set, 7-6, but lost the second, 6-3. Lang then cruised in the third set, 6-2.

The Falcons are home to host New Haven Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m.
