General Hospital Says Goodbye to a Baddie So Good, He Couldn’t Last

Well, we guess General Hospital’s Mason finally went too far because on today’s Tuesday, November 14 episode, it looks like Cyrus just pulled the plug on his antics and sent him to meet his maker! We aren’t exactly surprised seeing as how he backed himself into one hell of a corner, but we can’t help but feel almost disappointed!

Now, it wasn’t entirely clear, but after Mason offered to throw Austin under the bus instead of confessing to Ava’s kidnapping, it didn’t look good. And the note Austin got telling him not to be foolish because “it can be deadly” just as Cyrus exited Mason’s room with a smirk looked pretty bad. Plus, General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini seemed pretty darn clear with his tweet!

Now, being a bad guy in Port Charles isn’t necessarily a death sentence, but some of them are just too darn good at being bad to keep going forever. And during his time in Port Charles, Mason proved to be one of the best! Heck, even we started rooting for him to stick around and keep causing mayhem. Plus, he had a big hand in keeping Nikolas alive, so that’s something good, right?

Still, he’s been making life miserable for Austin and Ava for well over a year now, ever since he first popped up in the summer of 2022. He’s never really had a problem with dirt deeds, but he may have taken that a bit too far when boss Cyrus told him to abandon his Ava kidnapping and Mason instead decided to take her out.

Since then, we’ve pretty much been counting down to his demise. Cyrus all but telegraphed it, but it briefly looked like his own cousin would do him in, only for TJ to pull Austin back from the brink of murder!

But hey, we get it. Dante’s determined to find out who Mason’s boss was and it’s really just safer if he’s not around to divulge that uncomfortable truth, seeing as how Cyrus is determined to turn over a new leaf. More or less. Plus, the wicked must be punished and all that, we suppose.

It was a good run, Mason, but unless your mob boss happens to be named Sonny, there’s only one way this could end!
