A 53-year-old man was taken into police custody for conning women with false promises of government jobs. Mohan Kumar, the accused, is said to have deceived multiple women by taking money from them and offering them government positions as First Division Assistants (FDA) and Second Division Assistants (SDA).
An FIR filed at the Vidhana Soudha Police station claims that Mohan Kumar took Rs 2,50,000 from one Girija T in installments. He allegedly sought Rs 10 lakh from her for the government job.
Mohan Kumar, who was employed by Vidhana Soudha as a security guard, accompanied Girija to Vidhana Soudha and after examining her degree certificate, assured her that he would help her find employment. It is said that he informed Girija that she could make the last payment of Rs 7.5 lakh once she obtained an appointment letter.
Mohan promised Girija that she would get an appointment letter in August. After August, he supposedly changed his phone number and stopped returning calls.
When Mohan Kumar arrived back at Kempegowda International Airport after his trip to Bangkok, the Vidhana Soudha Police took him into custody. It is said he would spend the money he made off the cons to travel within and outside the country.
