Gordon J. Booty went home to the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2023, from his home in Mt. Hermon, LA. He was 87 and a native of Mt. Hermon. He was a truck driver for 50 years, many of those spent at Thomas Sand & Gravel. He was an active farmer, family caregiver, wildlife enthusiast and helper in his Mt. Hermon community. He was a beloved husband, father, friend and PawPaw Grouch. He was a man of strength and integrity and was loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Booty, daughters, Shelia Booty Hillyard and Pamela Menendez, step-children, Dana Michel Scott (David Beckwith) and Aaron Michel, sisters Ann Cancienne (Jim Cancienne) and Frances Poston, nine grandchildren, Kimberly Holland (Jordon Holland), Chris Hetherwick, Melissa Khallaf (Hafid Khallaf), Allen Woodruff (Lyndell Woodruff), Kyle Booty, Jennifer Cedotal, CJ Cedotal, Stacey Cedotal and Alden Scott, and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Cedotal, parents, William Booty and Verna Maples Booty, brothers, James Booty and William Booty, sister, Hazel Ball, son in law Jimmy Hillyard, grandsons, William Cedotal and Everett Scott.
Pallbearers will be Jacoby Creel, Chris Hetherwick, Christopher Hetherwick, Jordan Holland, Allen Woodruff, Kyle Booty, Aaron Michel and Alden Scott.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday November 2nd from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday November 3rd in the Oscar Morris Cemetery near his home, with Rev. Danny Greg officiating.
