When it comes to a good nail trend, certain celebs’ manicures make the top of our inspiration list (Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner, we’re thinking of you). But to find the 2025 nail trend, we went straight to the source behind the celebs’ looks, nail artist Zola Ganzorigt.
If you aren’t already familiar with Ganzorigt, she’s the one who created the glazed donut look that Bieber wore to the 2022 Met Gala red carpet. And it’s been trending ever since. So, it’s safe to say that she can create and spot a good trend. Her pick for 2025? Magnetic nail polish! It’s a sparkly or chrome-like polish that reacts to magnets, so you can do a subtle pattern like French tips, zig-zags or whatever else you can imagine.
“I think everyone is experimenting with their nails a lot lately, so I think it’s going to be all over the place,” Ganzorigt tells Teen Vogue. “But for me, I’m liking the magnetic nails a lot, so I’m really doing it. Probably, that will be big.”
Ganzorigt has already gotten a head start on the trend. Back in November, she used it to put a twist on classically chic fall nails for Bieber. “I recently did it on Hailey, and she really loved it,” Ganzorigt shares, gushing over how fun the set was. “We did the brown color, so it was cool.”
If you’re wondering how Ganzorigt has such a great knack for spotting the next nail trend, she thinks her clients are a big reason. “The things that we do are really easy to recreate. Because if you do really crazy or complicated nails, it’s really hard for people to copy it and then recreate it. So the nails that we do are really easy, and then anyone can copy and redo it,” she says. “So I think that’s a really important part.”
People can also put their own twists on the designs, depending on personal taste or the season. Ganzorigt and her celeb clients note and enjoy seeing others recreate and customize them. “We love it. It’s kind of like a mission accomplished because it’s like we want to inspire other people by doing things and when people love it and then do it, and then it makes us so happy, and then we always talk about it, ‘Oh my God, we had no idea that it went viral.’”
