“Here I come” – Danielle Collins shows off stunning new American-themed nail art, pumped up to represent USA at her 1st and final Olympics in Paris

Danielle Collins of the USA will be making her debut at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. Now in her final months on tour, she recently showed off her new American-themed nail art on social media as she prepares represent her country.

The tennis team of the USA includes Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Chris Eubanks, Marcos Giron and Rajeev Ram for the men’s event. The women’s team includes Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, Danielle Collins and Desirae Krawczyk.

Collins and Navarro are the first two Virginia Cavaliers women’s tennis graduates to make it to the US Olympic team. While playing for the Cavaliers, Navarro won an NCAA Singles title and Collins won two.

The 30-year-old has been in extraordinary form this season, winning two titles and making deep runs in tournaments. Having earned her spot on the Olympics team on the back of such campaigns, Collins was full of enthusiasm to play in her first and final Games as she took to her Instagram story to show off her new American-themed nail art. She captioned the image:

“Olympics here I come [USA flag emoji]”

The tennis event at the Olympics is slated to begin on July 27. It will be played on the clay courts of Roland Garros in the French capital.


Danielle Collins’ goal at the beginning of the season was to qualify for the Olympics

In January, Danielle Collins announced that she would be retiring from competitive tennis at the end of the season. She hoped to start a family and as she suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and endometriosis, her window for becoming pregnant was getting smaller.

However, since her announcement, she has been in scintillating form. She made a comeback into the WTA Top 10 by winning two titles including her maiden WTA 1000 title in Miami. She was on tour playing almost weekly for the first six months in 2024.

At the French Open, Collins faced a second-round exit but with it came a well-deserved break. She took to Instagram to express how she felt and mentioned that her goal was to qualify for the Olympics this year.

“…In the beginning of the season it was a goal of mine to qualify for the Olympics 🇺🇸🎾 It took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to make it happen. I am very proud of my success over the last six months…,” Collins wrote.

After a break of over a month, the American played at Wimbledon as the 11th seed but faced defeat in the second round.
