Hip-Hop Family Tree Comic Series Gets Hardcover Release

Acclaimed comic series Hip-Hop Family Tree is getting a hardcover release. In time for the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, Fantagraphics has announced the release of a hardcover collection of Ed Piskor’s popular collection of comics titled Hip-Hop Family Tree: The Omnibus.

The series started in 2013, and serves as an animated history of Hip-Hop chronicling DJs, MCs, record label owners, B-Boys and Girls and Graf artists, and was originally released in four volumes. Omnibus marks the first time that the series has been included in one book and includes bonus material like annotations, covers and brand-new artwork.

To celebrate the release of Hip-Hop Family Tree: The Omnibus, Piskor has created a new series of Hip-Hop trading cards inspired by the Marvel Comics cards of the early ’90s and featuring a number of iconic artists.
