How Timberland Took Over Fashion

Have we reached peak Timbs? Today, as part of a Pharrell-designed Louis Vuitton workwear collection, the Maison announced an LV x Timberland collab comprising a six-inch boot, ankle boot, ranger boot, pull-on mid boot, and finally, a pull-on harness boot.

Timberland Boots have had a cultural comeback in recent years, rising from the boot of choice for New England workers to a wardrobe mainstay of the NYC hip-hop scene, with a quick pit-stop in the footwear rotation of European ravers.

As fashion increasingly looks to the subcultural style legacy laid by hip-hop, Timberland has had a mega resurgence, which is reflected in collaborations with A-COLD-WALL*, Supreme, Sfera Ebbasta, and White Mountaineering, to name a few. The iconic Timberland 6-Inch boot received a hand-painted makeover courtesy of London-based artist SOLDIER, where an American flag further added to the cultural legacy of the workwear boot.
