Hyderabad: The Kulsumpura police on Saturday arrested a three-member robbery gang involved in about half-a-dozen cases of robberies and chain snatchings across the city. Police officials seized a country made pistol, two live rounds, two knives, one knuckle puncher, 11 mobile phones and two bikes from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Syed Abdul Hassan, an auto-rickshaw driver from Rajendranagar, Syed Taleb Ali, a painter from Yakutpura, and Saif Ali Mirza, a contract worker from electricity board from Chintalmet.
The gang was previously involved in cases registered at Charminar, Bahadurpura, Rajendranagar, Falaknuma, SR Nagar, Mahankali, Punjagutta, Humayun Nagar, Jeedimetla, Jagadgirigutta, Gachibowli, Mirchowk, Balanagar, Mirchowk, Malkajgiri and Nallakunta.
According to the police officials, the gang targeted pedestrians and motorists on secluded roads and robbed them by threatening with lethal weapons. They dispose the stolen material and share the money among themselves. They were recently involved in cases registered at Attapur, Langar Houz, Kulsumpura, Narsingi and Gachibowli.
Based a tip-off, the police nabbed the gang and recovered the material from them.
