A CURVY fashionista has been left with mixed views about Oh Polly after trying their viral dresses.
She was curious if the dresses that have proven popular with trendsetters on social media would flatter her body shape.
Georgie (@georgiejxmes) has garnered over 64,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares fashion and beauty buys.
The UK-based style enthusiast took to the social media platform to share opinions on a variety of dresses from women’s clothing retailer Oh Polly.
“All over my For You Page I constantly see Oh Polly dresses,” she said in a video.
“How pretty they look and shiny, however, I’ve only ever seen them on one body type – the skinny hourglass.”
She showed clips of several different influencers wearing the brand’s most popular styles.
Then showing a sparkly floor-length gown on a mannequin, she said, “Where would the girl’s organs go?
“What would the dresses look like on someone who doesn’t have that body type?”
Georgie described herself as not having a “skinny hourglass body” as she held up a huge bag filled with dresses to try.

SHEER GOWN
The fashionista showed footage of three influencers wearing Oh Polly’s Antonella dress before trying it on for herself.
The sheer embellished scoop neck evening gown is sold in four different colors for $156, with sizes ranging from four to 14.
“First up is the famous Antonella dress,” she said.
“I think this is the most famous Oh Polly dress. On the website, it explains that it’s completely sheer.”
Georgie opted to try the dress with a bikini underneath instead of the nude lingerie set recommended by the brand.
“My first thought was wow this really is sheer,” she said before apologizing for how “lopsided” her bikini looked through the material.
She took a deep breath in and then exhaled to see how visible her stomach would protrude.
“It wasn’t that bad,” she said. “The fabric is stretchy and supportive like how I thought Skims was going to be.
“It’s a dress I would wear straight after I had healed from my BBL but maybe I could get away in this with some shapewear underneath.
“I don’t know why they didn’t just line it even slightly. Every little would’ve helped.”
TAUPE MINI DRESS
Georgie showed how Oh Polly’s Bruna mini-dress looked in a post on the brand’s TikTok page before trying it on for herself.
The wrap-over pleated mini-dress costs $78 and is available in sizes 0 to 14.
“This dress went viral recently,” she said.
“I was a bit confused about the color, given it’s a completely different color on the website,” she continued comparing the brand’s TikTok post to a photo of the model on the website.
“When I received it, again I was confused because the pleated skirt didn’t have the extra layer that you saw in the video and the picture.
“But the dress was OK,” she said.
“I breathed out and it didn’t empathize my tummy but on the other hand, it does look a little bit Primark to me.
“I wouldn’t think that it’s the price that it was, I’m not sure why it’s at the price if you know what I mean.”
RED MINI DRESS
Georgie compared how Oh Polly’s Delfina dress looked on models in comparison to her.
The embellished mini dress is sold in three different colors for $156.
“This dress also went viral recently mostly because of the model Priscilla, who is like the GOAT [greatest of all time] model of IG beauty,” she said sharing a clip of the model wearing the dress.
Georgie was pleasantly surprised with how it looked on her as she breathed in and out to check if the dress drew attention to her stomach.
“And the back does give you a bit of a shelf booty for some struggle twerking,” she said while playfully dancing.
“Also was giving me Strictly Come Dancing slash Dancing With The Stars vibes.
“I don’t know where I would wear this realistically.”
METALLIC MINI DRESS
Georgie finished the shopping haul by trying on Oh Polly’s Vesper dress, which cost $124 and is sold in sizes ranging from XS to L.
“I couldn’t do this video without trying something from the new Chainmail collection,” she said.
“I picked this dress which reminds me of the Make Me Sweat girly,” the fashionista said referring to Tyla’s song Water.
“And guys this was so cute, I really did love this dress. It was really heavy and I felt like a pop star in it.”
“It was very cold as well,” she said rubbing her hands over the material.
“I breathed out and it didn’t make me look seven months pregnant.
“The only problem is that you can’t wear a bra with it so there’s no boob support.”
Over 918,000 people watched the viral try-on video and it racked up 120,000 likes.
Many viewers took to the comment section sharing their opinions on the dresses.
“Thank you for this! I have been wanting to get an Oh Polly dress but I only see them on one type of body and I’m a size 14 so I never buy anything,” one person wrote.

“I’ll remember to try Oh Polly. Seeing the fits on your body type is really encouraging and you’re looking amazing,” another said.
“I love you for this! I’m a big girly myself so seeing someone do this and it shows on my FYP [For You Page] is a huge lifesaver for me. Thank you so much,” a third added.
