Santa’s calling: Brecksville is bringing the magic of the North Pole directly to our children with “Santa’s Calling” on Tues., Dec. 12, and Wed., Dec. 13, between 6 and 8 p.m.
During these hours, children will have the opportunity to have a direct conversation with Santa Claus himself. The special telephone lines connecting Brecksville to the North Pole will be open for kids to share their Christmas wishes.
This experience comes free, ensuring that every child in the community can partake in this magical connection with Santa. To make this dream come true, parents are asked to complete an information sheet, available at the Community Center, through an online form at https://brecksville.oh.us or by calling 440-546-2300.
Children’s play: In the heart of Brecksville, a cherished holiday tradition is about to unfold at the historic Old Town Hall. For almost half a century, this free, time-honored event has brought joy to generations.
City employees and their families are taking the stage to present the Annual Children’s Christmas Play, a tradition believed to trace its roots back to the 1800s. The play, a true labor of love, will be presented on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9 and 10, with performances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The cast, featuring familiar faces such as Santa, Mrs. Claus, mischievous elves, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and other beloved characters, promises to transport children into a magical world.
What makes this experience even more magical is the opportunity for children to not only see and meet Santa but also sit on his lap to share their special Christmas wishes. Each child’s visit with Santa will be captured by one of Santa’s helpers, with a photograph and a specially crafted tree ornament given as mementos of the play – all free of charge.
With limited seating available, families are encouraged to secure their spots by calling Brecksville City Hall at 440-526-4351 to make reservations.
