ONE midsize mom was determined to look hot for the holidays.
Her Target run was all it took to get into the stylish spirit.
“If you have a tummy like me, maybe one that sticks out further than your booty does, here are some really cute things you can wear for the holiday season this year,” said Erica Suckow (@hiericasuckow).
She wasn’t shy about showing off her tummy before trying on some flattering frocks.
First up was a long-sleeved burgundy dress that Erica was obsessed with for its great coverage over the arms and chest – and that wasn’t all.
“It’s also got a little sheer moment which is gonna make you feel really sexy,” she explained.
If you weren’t comfortable with a full-body con moment, she had the perfect solution – adding a blazer – for her, it was a festive gold blazer – to act as a security blanket.
Perhaps the best part?
The price.
The $30 Wild Fable long sleeve lurex mesh midi dress, which was already sold out in sizes 1x through 4x, was described as having soft, stretchy fabric, metallic accents, and a mock turtleneck.

The look had plenty of glowing reviews.
“So cute and softer than I imagined for a glitter fabric,” wrote one purchaser.
Another agreed: “This dress is beautiful! It’s so flattering and I’d say true to size. Perfect for a holiday party I’m attending!”
The $42 Wild Fable women’s oversized glitter blazer featured stretchy fabric, front flap pockets, a below-hip fit, and a notched collar with a front button.
Others were already getting their festive on in the affordable piece.
“Great fit for a holiday party!” wrote a satisfied customer.
“I stumbled across this set in-store and fell in love! The sparkles and shoulder pads are a winning combo, and the style overall feels effortlessly dressy. Just wish they offered smaller sizes. Love,” another commented.
Not into dresses? No problem.
Erica explained how satin or sequin trousers could be just as fun – and flattering.
She said: “Honestly, you could wear these pants all winter long.”
The frugal fashionista was also falling for the off-the-shoulder top she wore with the satin style that she described as screaming with elegance.
Once again, she added another layer for extra coverage – this time, a pink blazer.
This party-ready look included the $32 A New Day high-rise wide-leg satin pants that were made of recycled polyester and had plenty of fans already.
One Target shopper was impressed with the fit.
“The satin pants are very well made and look expensive. I first bought a black pant and like it so well that I went back and purchased both the red and rose colors. I am 5’8” and the length is perfect on me,” she said.
“Thick, great quality! Very pleasantly surprised. Perfect for holiday parties,” said another.
The $22 A New Day draped one-shoulder tank top was selling out fast.
“It’s short but it fits my 5’6 size zero frame perfectly. It draped beautifully as off the shoulder or a cowl neck. The color is lovely and not too purply. It feels and looks way more expensive than it is,” wrote another savvy shopper.
Her $38 A New Day women’s satin blazer also had plenty of happy partygoer purchasers.
“Material is nice and silky, runs pretty big – normally a small or medium in tops, swim in the XS but that oversized fit is in right now so it works.”
If you don’t want so much satin, Erica tried on a sequin top to mix things up while still offering holiday party perfection.
“This would also look really cute with a knit satin skirt, or even a pair of jeans,” she said.
The $28 A New Day short sleeve paillettes had plenty of five star reviews.
Other shoppers were also pleased with the fit – and feel: “I ordered a size up because it is a shorter top. Glad I did. Very cute.”

“Beautiful blouse. Comfy. You can wear it with jeans or more casual,” another commented.
She also thought the looks could be saved for New Year’s Eve.
