Items worth $450K, including luxury purses, stolen in west Omaha burglary

A west Omaha man told police that his home was burglarized and that items worth a total of about $450,000, including nine purses worth nearly $60,000, were stolen.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a burglary report at the house near 156th Street and West Dodge Road. The man told police that a burglar, who has not been identified, broke into the home and took the items. Officers saw a double pane window that was broken on the east side of the house. The man told police the burglar entered the house through the broken window.

According to a police report, the stolen items included six Chanel purses each valued at $4,000 and three Hermes purses each valued at $11,000.

Officers saw several of the home’s bedrooms on the second floor were ransacked. An open window on the north side of the house was believed to be where the burglar exited the house.
