An influencer has issued a warning to Londoners to be more vigilant after a thief entered her changing room and took her new Birkin bag.
Janice Joostema shared evidence of the thief loitering outside the dressing room before stealing the upscale item in a TikTok video.
“Beware of this girl Londoners” she captioned the video, explaining the situation and added that “she probably even saw me topless coming into the room”.
After noticing her Birkin was gone, the influencer was seen frantically searching the store for it.
Joostema added: “People work hard for what they have, and these people come along.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, 17 December, following circulation of a video of the incident, officers contacted the victim of a theft that happened inside a shop in Oxford Street. No arrests have been made at this stage. This matter is under investigation.”
